Boys Basketball Dominates in Second Game of Year

This Friday the Hamilton boys basketball team took on Hopkins at home. The Hawkeyes dominated in route to a 76-46 victory.

Hamilton got contributions from every player on the team, but the biggest contributions came from Junior Grant Wolfram and Senior Elijah Walker. Wolfram scored 20, including 10 of Hamilton’s first 13 points and he also played solid defense. Walker was Hamilton’s second leading scorer with 12 points coming off of a 18 point performance on Tuesday.

The Hawkeyes played aggresive defense which led to an amazing 31 total turnovers by the Hopkins team.

Hamilton did not know much about the Hopkins team as this was Hopkins first game of the year. When Coach Haverdink was asked about the challenge he responded with, “In someways not knowing about your opponent this early allows you to focus on what we need to get better at.”

With this win Hamilton moves to 2-0 on the season, their next game will be at home against West Ottawa on the 17th.
