Hamilton’s Covering Hawkeye Sports Class Has First Ever Hawkeye Gameday

Written by, Adam Snay and Brandon Ritter

On Friday, January 10th, the Covering Hawkeye Sports class held their first “Hawkeye Gameday” show. It is just like College Game Day on Saturday mornings. It had an outstanding turnout with almost the whole student section watching the event. During the show, there was a contest for the best gameday sign, which was won by Kellen Hilton. His sign read “Is this the line for One Direction tickets?” Hamilton High School is the only school doing anything like ESPN-inspired show, and it ended up being pretty remarkable.

Mr. Braschler, the school principal, said that he would absolutely do this gameday show again. He thinks it is a great way to have kids learn and it is showing positive feedback from other people in the community. This class has done a lot of work and has had a significant amount of accomplishments. Trenton Kronemyer, one of the Hawkeye Game Day hosts, says it was a great experience and something he would definitely do again.

One of the fans during Hawkeye Game Day was Ben Koopman. He thought that Hawkeye Gameday was a fun way to get the community together. The fans showed great support, whether they be high school students or community members.

Many people are looking forward for the next Hawkeye Gameday on Friday, January 31 against Holland.  Come out and support your Hawkeyes, and the crew of Covering Hawkeyes Sports.  More information on the January 31st show will be available during the week leading up to the episode.
