Hamilton Finishes Fifth at Tough CC Invite

The Hamilton Cross Country teams traveled to Grand Rapids on Saturday for the Cougar Falcon Invitational. On the boys side the story was Mark Freyhof. The junior had the fastest race of his high school career, finishing in just 16 minutes and 24 seconds. With his efforts he moves to tied for second fastest runner in Hamilton history. The boys team finished fifth in their division of the competitive invitational.

 

On the girls side it was another Freyhof story. Erika ran to a first place finish with a time of 18:44. Erika’s time also moves her up in Hamilton history, putting her at fifth. The girls team also finished fifth, finishing behind four state powerhouses. The team moves to sixteenth in the state rankings.

 
The Hawkeyes are back in action Wednesday to face rivals Holland Christian.
