On Monday, the Hamilton Cross Country teams traveled to Gun Lake for the Thornapple-Kellogg Invitational. The boys team came up with a victory led by Mark Freyhof with a time of 17:08 (2nd), Matt Field with 18:09 (4th) and Andrew Fathman with a time of 18:13 (5th). This was the boy’s second invitational win this year, after never winning one before.
The girls also ran well, finishing second behind South Christian. Erika Freyhof won the meet individually with a time of 19:35. Also running well was Hope Fathman with a time of 21:18 for eighth place.
The Hawkeyes look to build off of their early success as they head into conference action this Wednesday (September 10) versus the Dutch of Holland at Holland Christian. Check back later this week for CHS coverage of Wednesday’s meet.
