In Cross Country action on Wednesday the Hawkeyes traveled to Holland Christian to face the Holland Dutch for the first conference meet of the season. The boys team was victorious over the Dutch with a score of 21-38. Mark Freyhof blew past the competition, finishing 50 seconds ahead of the rest of the field with a time of 17:22, despite the muddy conditions.
The Hawkeye girls were also dominant, with their first six runners coming in before the first Holland runner crossed the line. Leading the Hawkeyes was Erika Freyhof with a time of 19:53 (1st) and Audrey Freyhof with her personal best of 21:34 coming in second.
The Hawkeyes are back in action next wednesday the 17th versus the Byron Center Bulldogs at Unity Christian.
