Athlete Profile: Elliott Klingenberg- Boy’s Varsity Cross Country

Elliott is currently a sophomore,  running his first cross country season after switching over  from football.We had the opportunity to catch up with cross  country coach, Travis Pertner, about Elliott.


“Elliot has been a solid runner this year at the 3 spot.  He is  one of the reasons that I can say this is the best boy’s team  Hamilton has seen. His future is very bright in this sport.”




What made you want to run cross country?

  • “I wanted to try cross, I’ve always enjoyed running distance and I just wanted to give it a shot.”



What makes cross different than football?

  • “Cross is harder than football and it’s more of an independent sport.”


Do you enjoy running cross country?

  • “Yes, I enjoy XC.  My teammates are great and it helps me build endurance for other sports.”
