Wednesday the Hamilton Cross Country Teams hosted Zeeland West for a conference dual. The Zeeland boys team came into the meet ranked #3 in the state, and blew past the Hawkeyes to a 20-35 victory. Individually Mark Freyhof ran to another victory with a time of 16:39, beating second place by 47 seconds. Matt Field sat out again, still battling a calf injury. The boys fall to 3-1 on the season.
On the girls side the Hawkeyes won by a score of 25-31. Erika Freyhof lead the way with a time of 19:03. Jennica Schaffer, Audrey Freyhof, and Melinda Overbeek finished 3-5 with times of 21:18, 21:39 and 22:05 respectively. Hamilton now has three runners in the top 9 in the conference standings. The team improves to 4-0.
The Hawkeyes are back in action at the Allegan County Fair for the Allegan Invite on Saturday.
