On Wednesday the Hamilton Cross teams faced off against the Unity Christian Crusaders. Ridge Point Church makes for a challenging course, as runners have to climb a big hill twice during the race. For the first time in the last few weeks the Hawkeye boys were in somewhat full strength as Mark Freyhof and Matt Field both ran. However Mark Freyhof was still nursing his foot injury, wearing running shoes instead of his spikes for The boys won with a score of 20-39. Andrew Fathman ran well finishing 3rd with a time of 18:02.
The Hawkeye girls also won by a score of 20-36. Erika ran extremely well beating the fastest girl in the conference in Kelli Nesky. Other notable performances were: Audrey Freyhof running a 20:48, and Jennica Schaffer running a 21:20.
The teams’ next meet is next week Wednesday for the conference meet at Helder Park in Zeeland.
