Hamilton Varsity Volleyball Continues Their Great Season By Defeating Unity Christian 3-1

By: Madi Alexander

Last night, the Hamilton varsity volleyball team defeated Unity Christian 3-1. In the first game, Unity beat Hamilton 23-25. Coach Abby Ekkens said, “In the first game we lacked focus and energy, causing us to make mistakes.” However, the Hawkeyes quickly recovered and won the final three games 25-17, 25-20, and 25-18. “Last time we played Unity, it went into five games, so we knew it was going to be a tough match,” Coach Ekkens answered when questioned about the game. But the Hawkeyes came out with determination and finished off the match in only four games. The stat leaders in the game were Jordan Pikaart with 26 kills and 8 aces, Destiny Alexander with 31 assists, and Erin Meiste with 16 digs. With the win, Hamilton remains only one game behind OK Green conference leader Byron Center.
