Fall Sports Girls Golf

Player Feature: Meghan Adkins

Camden Blood, Mason Miller.

In Covering Hawkeye Sports this week we are featuring a girls golf player. Meghan Adkins is not a rather loud person. In her first season of golf most people would not look directly for her but she is working her way to the top of the team quickly in her senior season.

A 3.7 gpa student, staying on top of her grades is an important thing among most student athletes. Meghan is a senior on the Hawkeyes Girls Varsity Golf team. Meghan enjoys the sport but most of all loves being able to play with her friends alongside her. When asked why she plays golf, she replies “I play the game because it’s a game you can play for life”. You can start on the golf course at a very young age and play for a long time into your senior years. Meghan has had many good memories in golf such as beating a personal record or their coach (Mr.Arnold) buying the seniors flowers which made the seniors feel like they had a special bond with their coach. She has also had some oops moments she would like to forget. For example falling over and tripping with her bag. She now looks back on it as a funny laughing moment. Meghan is an exceptional golfer but stays humble in telling us she always would like to improve her score. Keep it up Meghan.
