This week the varsity soccer team took on the Zeeland Duxs on Monday, and the Unity Christian Crusaders on Wednesday. They started the week off with a bang winning 2-0 over the Dux. Collin Brinkhuis started the game off with a goal 17 minutes into the game. At the half the Hawkeyes were up by 1. The next half continued with many shots on goal from the Hawkeyes, finally Kody Topp put it in goal with 14 minutes left to play. The Dux could not come back and with a 2-0 win over the Dux the Hawkeyes record went too 3-7-1.
On Wednesday the soccer team faced Unity Christian, currently ranked number one in the state. In the first half Uity held a 5 to 0 lead. After the half Unity came out and scored another 3 goals. The Hawkeyes battled hard yet couldn’t stick with the high competition. Now the varsity boys soccer team’s record stands at 3-8-1. With a game against the Holland Dutch on Monday, October 6 at Holland.
