Voted most likely to succeed, Kimberly Petroelje(formerly Grotenhuis) was a 1997 graduate of Hamilton High School. During her four years here, she left her mark in the classroom and on the field being known as a great athlete playing volleyball, basketball, and then softball, being her favorite, in the spring.
She was a very successful in her athletics in high school and in college. In high school they had a lot of memories, one being when they went to regionals for basketball, volleyball and softball. With softball, one of her favorite memories was when they took their trip down to South Carolina on spring break. Also, she said with volleyball, the rides in the van to volleyball tournaments were always a blast and Mrs. DeVette’s hatred for driving the van in the winter was an added bonus. The greatest memory of her high school career was the friends she made and played with for all four years.
After high school, she went on to play softball and volleyball at Hope College majoring in social studies then teaching at Grandville and Zeeland West. After going back for her masters degree, she is now a counselor at Zeeland East High School and married to Eric Petroelje, PE teacher in Hamilton, they have three kids, Grant (8), Brooke (5), and Grace (2).
