Competitive cheer improves

ZEELAND, Mich. – On Wednesday the 14th the cheerleaders went to Zeeland West to compete in their 4th invitational of the season. They ended up scoring 642.2 points giving them a 5th place finish out of the 8 teams there. They scored 201.2 points in the first round, 175 points in the second, and they did the best in the third round with 266 points. The Hawkeyes beat Byron Center, Zeeland West, and Wayland. The coach Emillie Gort said that she was happy that they, “Improved our scores from last weeks conference meet.” Also sophomore KT Manifold overall said, “We did really good. Our first round was a little shaky, but overall good.” She also said that how they did in round three was the best they’ve ever done.

 

On Saturday the 17th the cheerleaders have an invitational at Grand Rapids Catholic Central.
