Hawkeyes Coming Home

HAMILTON, Mich. – Three rounds, five judges, time to impress. For the first time this season, the Hamilton Hawkeye Cheerleaders hosted their first home Competition since last year. On Wednesday the 28th, the Hawkeyes took on eight other competitors. They ended up overall taking the fifth place over Zeeland West, Wayland, and Byron Center. With an end score of 624.26, each round was fought hard. Round one started with 190.6, standing strong they end their second round with 173.86, and their third round coming out with a tough 259.9.

“There is always room for improvement in competitive cheer.” points out Coach Emillie, “On February 21 we have districts and our goal is to finish higher than we did last year.”

Senior Rebbekka Dingus agrees with Coach Emillie, “We need to work on round two and three routines, round three is the most difficult round”.

Competitive Cheer had a competition Wednesday February 4th at Thornapple Kellogg.
