Boys Swim & Dive Finish 4th

OAKLAND, Mich. – Over the past two days the Hamilton boys swim team battled with the top teams in the state, in hopes of a state championship. The team came into the MHSAA finals ranked 5th in division three. Hamilton earned 4th place behind Cranbrook, Chelsea and East Grand Rapids. Hamilton was led by very strong diving performances by Andrew Fathman, Nolan DeJonge and Kohl Baumann, all earning top-10 finishes. On the Swimming side-of-things the Hawkeyes were led by Alec Nyboer, who won the 100 yard butterfly, setting a new state record two days in a row. Nyboer also finished third in the 100 yard backstroke, and also apart of the fifth place 200 yard medley relay, as well as the third place 400 yard freestyle relay.

Cranbrook ran away from the competition scoring 430 points, outscoring second place Chelsea by over 100pts. East Grand Rapids and Hamilton were very close, until East pulled away in the last few events. Holland Christian finished 14th.
