By: Morgan DeVries

HAMILTON, Mich. — September 10, 2015, Hamilton’s boys soccer team hosted a game against Fennville on Thursday, September 10. The game ended in a win for Hamilton, with an overall score of 3-0. The team now has a record of 3-3-1.

During the first half, sophomores Bryce DeVries and Logan Hilldore swiftly got through the Fennville defense and each scored a goal. Then, during the second half, Seth Hukill (10th grade) headed the ball past the goalie and into the goal. Brady Gilbert (sophomore) assisted the boys in all three tallies. Goalie Mikah Sengmany, sophomore, played a strong game having 8 shutouts throughout the game. A shutout means that they did something right.

These boys played a very strong, very mature game. They kept their heads up and stayed on the ground and multiple people were on the scoreboard. “I thought our defenders made a more intentional effort to get involved with the offense as well, which is a good thing for us.” said coach Tyler Robinson. The goalkeeper played stoutly and aggressively all night long. A good overall win against a decent opponent!

Come out and support the boys at their next home game against Zeeland West on Monday, September 14th at 5:45 pm.
