Hawkeyes fall to Maroons in Girls CC

HAMILTON, Mich. – Wednesday Night the Hamilton girls’ cross country team traveled to South Christian to square off against the Maroons of Holland Christian.

The Maroons snagged the narrow victory, beating the Hawkeyes 26-31. With the win Holland Christian moves to 4-0, while the Hawkeyes drop to 3-1.

The meet featured two of the top three runners in the state, Kayla Windemuller, and Erika Freyhof. Freyhof ran away with it though, beating Windemuller by 42 seconds with a time of 18:21.

Hamilton’s next meet is this Saturday for the Allegan Tiger Shark Invitational at the Allegan County Fairgrounds.
