Girls Golfers Finish Season With a 5th Place at Regionals

The Hamilton Girl Golfers ended their season on Thursday, October 8 with a 5th out of 13 teams at Regionals with a score of 413 for 18 holes.

Leading the team was Myra Becksfort with a score of 99. Following Myra was Taylor Eding (103), Lindsey Reed (105), and Julie Genzink (106).

The golfers season is over and they are losing four of their best players, Taylor Eding, Julie Genzink, Peri Phillipi, and Lindsey Reed.

Taylor Eding had a great final season on Hamilton’s Golf team. Eding had an average of 52.25 and her best score was a 48 at Conference on the back 9 at Zeeland West.

Julie Genzink ended her season at Hamilton with a bang. The senior ended the season with a 54.71 and had her best score of a 46 at Holland Christian’s jamboree at Winding Creek.

Lindsey Reed finished her final season on the golf team with pride. Reed had an average of 52.42 and her best score was a 44 at Zeeland West’s jamboree at Crestview.

Peri Phillipi ended her final season with the girls golf team on a positive note. Phillipi had an average of 53.33 and shot her best score of a 43 at Unity Christian’s jamboree at Pigeon Creek.

“They each have impacted the team in their own way! I’m very proud of all of them. They all are looking at college and making an impact in this world,” said Coach Kevin Arnold.

The team is going to miss the seniors and hope that they continue doing great things in their futures.
