Boys Soccer falls in District Finals to the Plainwell Trojans

By: Morgan DeVries

HAMILTON, Mich. – On Saturday, October 24, the Hamilton Boys soccer team traveled to Plainwell and battled against the Trojans in the district finals. Unfortunately, it was a loss for the Hawkeyes; 5-0.

The Hawkeyes played a tough game and battled hard. Playing on wet turf isn’t something they’re used to. The team battled valiantly throughout the night, but could not find the back of the net. Goalkeeper Mikah Sengmany had a total of eight saves, although five slipped through his fingers. Sophomore Bryce DeVries commented on the game saying, “They outplayed us. We didn’t have the effort level we needed to win.”
The boys played great all season. We say goodbye to seniors: Andrew Caswell (#7), Raymund Johnson (#11), Logan Sloan (#13), Jack Gilbert (#20), and Ryan VanOss (#22). The Hamilton Hawkeye boys soccer team ended their season with a record of 6 wins, 14 losses, and 1 tie.
