Hawkeyes Soar Over Vikings

HAMILTON, Mich. – The Hamilton girls basketball team played their third game of the season at home against the Hopkins Vikings on Friday. The girls were able to stay undefeated after earning a 63-31 victory.

The top scorers of the night included three juniors, Brooklyn Groenheide with 11 points, Emily Haverdink with 14 points, and Teagan Knapp with 10 points. The whole team played strongly with a lot of other girls adding points as well.

Coach VanHekken said that the girls “did what they needed to do on the court”. Although coach feels great about their offense, he believes that the girls need to finish the play. “Steals need to lead to lay ups.”

The Hawkeyes are back in action on Tuesday at West Ottawa.
