HOLLAND, Mich. – The Varsity Girls made the short trip into Holland last Tuesday, December 15th, to face off with the West Ottawa Panthers. Hamilton fought hard, but came up on the short end of a 44-39 final score.

The game was a close one starting with the first tip-off. The Hawkeyes got off to a hot start with both Emily Haverdink and Joslyn Bronkhorst sinking a 3-pointer in the first quarter. The Lady Hawks took a two point lead into the second quarter.

The lead didn’t last as it came down to just the final few possessions in the fourth quarter that put the Hawks under. The Hawkeyes were outscored 13-9 in the final quarter.

Hamilton was lead in scoring, once again, by Junior Annaka Ediger who tallied 13 total points.

Coach Dan VanHekken said, “We just turned the ball over too much down the stretch, and did not give ourselves the needed scoring opportunities to win.”
The Hawks were without, lone senior, Abi Ediger in this game due to injury.
