HAMILTON, Mich. – In Friday night action, the boys varsity basketball team took a tough home loss to Unity Christian. The Hawkeyes had a rough start being outscored 15 to 5 in the first quarter. Hamilton struggled to make shots all night, only shooting 27 percent from inside the arc. The 3 ball also was a struggle with the Hawkeyes shooting at just the 21 percent mark.

After the half, the Hawkeyes were outscored 17 to 11 in the third quarter. Through the final quarter of play, the Hawkeyes started to rally and scored 14 points but it wasn’t enough to hold off Unity, with the score being 34 to 67.

Ben Koopman and Dylan Oonk led scoring with 7, while Jacob Visscher added four points.
