Zeeland, MICH. – On February 8, the Hamilton girls varsity cheer team had another battle at Zeeland East. With a total of nine total teams being there, the Hawkeyes placed 6th overall, with a total score of 627.32.

“The girls did very well. They came back from a downfall the week before, and really shined, considering the complications that had happened on the team,” says Madi Copeland, a senior on the team.

In the first round, the Hawkeyes placed 4th with a score of 201.40, just shortly trailing behind the winning team- Thornapple Kellogg. In the second round, the Hawks placed 6th with a score of 179.02, falling a little short. The Hawkeyes lost a little momentum placing 9th in the third round, putting them in a bit of a rut.

However, with the earlier scores, the Hawkeyes were able to secure their placing with the outstanding performance putting them at 6th for an overall score.
