Boys Baseball Falls to East GR & Caledonia In Tournament

EAST GRAND RAPIDS, MI – On Saturday April 22, the boys varsity baseball team suffered a loss in a tournament against East Grand Rapids high and Caledonia High.

In this tournament against the two teams Hamilton took the defeat. The Hawkeyes kept it close with Caledonia losing by one point making the final score 3-2 Caledonia taking home the win. Keaton Mudd was 2 and 2 with 2 RBI’s. Ben Duimstra got a loss on the mound but pitched well nonetheless. He only allowed 4 hits and struck out 4 and only let 2 walk. Although we were able to keep the score close with Caledonia we suffered from a terrible loss to East Grand Rapids losing 8-0. Landon Timmer had the Hawkeyes only hit for the game. Seth Hukill took the loss on the mound and gave up 6 hits and 3 earned runs with 2 strikeouts and no walks.

Although we took two losses this past Saturday, the Hawkeyes are now 7-8 for the season and can surely come back and win the next game. Catch your Varsity baseball team next on Tuesday April 25, at Byron Center.
