Hawkeyes Drop Doubleheader to Byron Center

BYRON CENTER, Mich- On Tuesday, April 25, the Hamilton Hawkeyes varsity baseball team dropped both games of a double header to Byron Center. The Hawkeyes lost the first game 6-2 and the second game 4-2.


In the first game the Hawkeyes struggled to hit. They only had 4 hits compared to Byron Center who had 11. As a result of struggling to hit the Hawkeyes were only able to score 2 runs. Jacob Vischer pitched for the Hawkeyes going 6 innings. He finished with 9 strikeouts and gave up 6 runs.


In the second game the Hawkeyes were able to find their offense. They had 7 hits, however, they were only able to score 2 runs. The Hawkeyes were able to take the lead by scoring 2 runs in the top of the fourth inning. The lead didn’t last long as they gave up a run in the bottom of the fourth inning allowing Byron Center to tie the game at 2. In the fifth inning Byron Center scored 2 more runs to go up 4-2, giving them the lead and helping them get the win. Kolten Moore started the game going 4 innings and giving up 4 runs.


The Hawkeyes next game is May 2 against Holland Christian.
