Softball Wins 2 in Coopersville Tournament

Coopersville, MICH. – The Hawkeyes softball team faced Holland Christian, Cooperville, and DeWitt on last Saturday.


In the first game the girls had a close matchup coming up victorious against Holland Christian ending it 4-3. The second game was a much more comfortable game with a final score of 4-1 against Dewitt to give the girls their 2 wins of the day. In the last game Hamilton lost a hard fought match 10-5 against the tournament host, Coopersville.


Key players were Liza Lohman who was 5-9 on the day with 2 runs, and Allyssa VandenBerg who was 8-11 with 2 runs.

When the Senior Maddie Rudolph was asked how she felt on how their performances throughout the day were she said “ We started off the weekend really strong coming away with 2 wins. In the championship game things didn’t go as well as they did in the morning. We need to bounce back from this weekend because we have a big game on Tuesday for conference.”
