Varsity Softball Falls to Zeeland West

The Varsity Softball team hosted Zeeland West on Tuesday night in a double header. The Hawkeyes lost the first game 11-6 and the second game 6-3.

 

In the first game, Morgan Lacombe led the Hawkeyes in the first game going three for four with two RBI’s. Josie VanSlooten was two for four with one run and Haley VanHuis was one for four with two runs. Chloe DeJonge was the losing pitcher allowing ten earned runs in five innings.

 

In the second game, the Hawkeyes had a 3-2 lead but allowed four runs in the sixth inning off of multiple errors. Chloe DeJonge was four for four with one run. Riki Ediger was two for four with a double and a run scored and Haley VanHuis was two for four. Morgan LaCombe was the losing pitcher with five strikeouts and two earned runs in six innings pitched.

 

Hamilton is now 4-6 in the OK Green. The Hawkeyes will be back in action on Friday vs Hopkins at 4:00 PM.
