Holland Christian Predictions – CHS Beat Reporters

Tonight, the rivalry is renewed as the Maroons of Holland Christian travel to Hamilton to take on the Hawkeyes.  Holland Christian (1-2) is coming off of a good showing vs. league favorite Byron Center while Hamilton (0-3) is looking for it’s first win of the 2017 campaign.  Our CHS football beat reporters enter their predictions for tonight’s game.

Daniel Folkert

The Hamilton Hawkeyes (0-3) have a crucial home game against the Holland Christian Maroons (1-2) at 7 p.m. Both teams got mutilated last week, Zeeland East defeated Hamilton 49-0, and Byron Center defeated Holland Christian 47-19. It’ll be interesting to see how the defenses perform in the rivalry game. Expect a close high scoring game. Late turnovers have hurt the Hawkeyes and they’ll hurt the Hawkeyes again; the Maroons will pull off a late comeback win.

The Hamilton Hawkeyes take on the Maroons of Holland Christian.  With both teams entering tonight with losing records, the key will be which defense shows up.  Both team’s have scored points this season.  I expect the Hawkeyes to struggle tonight as the visiting Maroons will escape with a rivalry win.

The Holland Christian Maroons and the Hawkeyes have been long time rivals. Every time both teams try to out do each other. This week will be different. The Hawkeyes will really have to step up their game to even have a chance to compete. With the Maroons strong defense, the Hawkeye offense will have to toughen up and try to push the ball.  The Hawkeyes will have to be on their best game to have a chance against the Maroons.

This game will be an important matchup for both teams as they look to gain ground in the OK-Green Conference. Both teams have been less than fantastic this season, but this matchup will be determined by who wants it more in what should be a high scoring affair. With both teams on average giving up 40+ points this season, I’ll take the home team to win this one but no one should be surprised if either team wins by seven points or less.

Holland Christian has been Hamilton’s rival for years. They are a good team this year but Hamilton will play a good game against them. They have a strong defense but against Hamilton’s offense, they will put up a good fight until the fourth quarter.
