Hamilton High School has named Mark Behnke as their new Varsity Softball Coach.

A 1993 graduate of River Valley High School, Behnke has taught at Hamilton High School since 2000.

During that time, he has coached a plethora of Hawkeye sports and levels. He counts his time coaching track and field, basketball, football, and baseball as vital to his development as a coach.

“I am honored to be named the Hamilton Softball Varsity Head Coach,” stated Behnke. “I consider it a privilege to follow Brian Morrison in this role. I’ve been at Hamilton for almost two decades and have worked with some of the best coaches Hamilton Athletics has ever had.”

Hamilton Athletic Director Jordan Bandstra said, “We’re excited for Mark to take over our Softball program. He is someone who has worn different coaching hats for us over the years and it gives him a unique perspective. He is a respected teacher and coach that will work hard to create a good experience for our athletes.  We look forward to him carrying out his vision for the softball program with energy and enthusiasm.”

“Looking ahead,” Behnke told us, “I can’t wait to share my vision with our softball parents and players and get to work. Go Hawkeyes!”
