Last month, Hamilton Softball Head Coach Brian Morrison resigned from the softball program’s top post.  Morrison, who currently is the Assistant Principal at Hamilton Middle School, spent the last 17 seasons in the softball program.

Known for his gregarious personality and the ability to relate to his players, Morrison served the last 14 years as the head coach.

“We are thankful to Coach Morrison for his leadership of our softball program,” Hamilton Athletic Director Jordan Bandstra said.  “To lead a successful program for so long like he did shows his commitment to building a program the right way. He had a unique perspective on developing the whole student and lived it every day. We will miss him in softball and in our athletic department as a whole.”

Veteran Assistant Coach Abby Ekkens added, “Brian was a patient coach. His ability to presume the positive in every situation was incredible. He believed in developing great young women first, and softball players second. He also had a passion for teaching leadership and spent countless hours outside of practice working with players to develop those skills.”
