Girls Split with Holland and Holland Christian

What Happened: The Hawkeyes were doing a great job in the race, and were leading over Holland Christian for a while, but Holland Christian ended up taking the win 23-34. Hamilton finished second to the Maroons, and then the Hawkeyes rebounded by beating Holland 23-32.

They said it: Bella Charron, a junior, explained, “It was exciting to have a home conference meet. We barely lost to Holland Christian, who took the victory.”

Key Moment: The key moment of the entire race was the excitement of running ahead of Holland Christian in the early stages of the race.

Key Players: The top four runners of the day were: Trina Farris, (freshman) Bella Charron, (junior) Emily Fitzwilliams, (freshman) and Ellen Young (senior). These runners showed their perseverance throughout the race.

What does it mean: The Hamilton’s girls cross country team is looking at finishing third in the conference to Holland Christian and Byron Center.
