Volleyball drops OK-Green showdown to Byron Center

WHAT HAPPENED: The Hamilton varsity volleyball team lost to Byron Center at home. The Hawkeyes lost in four sets with the decisive final set ending 25-16. This brings their overall record to 24-5.

KEY MOMENT: When Byron Center took the second set (25-16), it certainly put the Hawkeyes in a corner and on this evening, Hamilton couldn’t work their way out of it.

KEY PLAYERS: Junior Jen Johnson led the Hawkeyes with 29 digs. Junior middle hitter AJ Ediger finished with 28 kills while senior Shelby Kragt with 53 assists.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN: In a showdown of OK-Green leaders, Hamilton’s loss now means that the Hawkeyes will have to win out to guarantee a tie for the league title
